The Larson Automotive Group is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our corporate office. This position will be responsible for guiding the accounting office in reporting the financial condition of our 8 dealerships to the various company stakeholders. This reporting must be performed complete, accurate, and timely, which will require significant investment in managing and training a team of up to 30 staff in their various responsibilities toward that end.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversees the completion of each month’s financial statement according to dealership guidelines and within each manufacturer’s format and time frame.
• Provides directors with monthly reporting that outlines key performance indicators and trend analysis.
• Provides department managers with detailed financial and management reports.
• Reviews the general ledger and scheduled accounts. Notes any unusual entries and investigates.
• Reviews the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with outside sources to ensure proper bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payable, and floor plan payable.
• Administers a loss review program and maintains loss reserves for contingent liabilities and trade receivables.
• Ensures all manufacturer accounts including warranty claims, rebates, interest, protection, and co-op advertising accounts are current and accurate.
• Monitors all schedules periodically to ensure properly stated.
• Computes monthly variable payroll for certain commissioned managers.

Supervisory responsibilities

• Directly supervise multiple office managers and up to 25 administrative staff.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Interview, hire and train potential employees.
• Plan, assign and direct work appropriately.

Larson Automotive Group also helps plan for your future with our retirement plan available to all employees over the age of 21. The 401k plan starts after the completion of 2 months of employment, the employee will be automatically enrolled into the program starting at a 3% deduction and this will increase 1% per year for the first 3 years. The company does match 50% of the first 4% contributed by the employee. Employees on a budget or who want to know exactly what will be coming out of their check can also opt to have a flat dollar amount withheld from their check. We also offer a ROTH plan option as well. Employees can opt out of the plans at any time.

Hourly and Salary employees will receive 6 paid holidays each year.

We offer a competitive PTO (Paid Time Off) program; employees begin to accrue hours from day one worked (eligible to use after 90 days of employment). PTO is accrued for the first 2 years at 1 hour for every 40 hours worked at 3 to 10 years 1.53 hours of PTO for every 40 hours worked and at 10 years 2.30 hours of PTO for every 40 hours worked.

• Prior experience as a Controller managing multiple dealerships.
